The Miz was interviewed by Byron Saxton. He said the way things are looking, the World Cup is going to be AWESOME for him.

Byron Saxton interviewed Kurt Angle. Angle said most people doubted him that he could win a tournament at this stage of his career but most people doubted he could win the gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck. He said he was here not to add another accolade but to write the next chapter of his career. It’s true, it’s damn true.

Byron Saxton interviewed The Miz. He said he may have gotten a stiff mule kick in the throat from Jeff Hardy but he still won and he’s going to take out Rey Mysterio and is going to show he is the best in the world.

Saxton then interviews Mysterio while Miz makes his entrance. Saxton asks him about being attacked by Randy, Rey says being the best in the world is not about making excuses. He says he has been doubted by bigger and better than Miz, and that just makes his wins all the sweeter.

Once again, Saxton is backstage with Seth Rollins. He asks how it feels to go from a big man like Lashley to someone like Ziggler. Rollins says being the best is not about having an easy ride, and he wouldn’t want it to be easy, so he’s going out to do it again and prove himself.

For his part, The Showoff showed no remorse in a post-match interview with Byron Saxton, who raised the question of whether Ziggler’s win was tainted by dirty pool. Ziggler countered he wasn’t after approval, because he has always been his own biggest advocate even when no one else believed in him. And regardless of how he gets it, the title of “best in the world” is an accolade that’s always belonged to him.
